Heat Pump
Many people have now invested significant amounts by having energy efficient heat pumps (air to water or ground source). However it is important to note that proper maintenance and repairs are essential for ensuring optimal performance and reducing the risk of costly repairs and increased electrical consumption.
The pitfall we are finding is that in some cases, plumbers or electricians are unable to carry out maintenance and repairs, as they are not F-Gas engineers. This can lead to frustration and confusion for customers who were not aware of this requirement. To work on heat pumps the company must be registered with F-Gas or REFCOM.
On a regular basis we receive phone calls from customers who were not aware of this. Heat pumps are completely different from boilers (no technology similar between the two methods).
Maintenance is absolutely essential to prevent very expensive repairs, and hugely increased electrical consumption.
For customers who had a heat pump installed many years ago; working with many mainstream suppliers we are able to offer replacement technology, providing energy efficient heating. The new units can be placed discretely outside your home or garden and come with a range of controllers, including web-enabled that allow remote operation via an app. With this level of control, you can easily manage your heating while away from home.
The apps control the following functions:
- Hot water and heating functions
- Frost protection
- Holiday mode
- 7 day weekly schedule
So if you have a heat pump that was installed many years ago, consider upgrading to a newer, more efficient model today.
Please note
We carry out repairs and maintenance on heat pumps of all makes and styles. We do not carry out plumbing and do not fit new plumbing to accommodate heat pumps.
